LISBON – Alicia J. Charest, 89, of The Lamp Residential Care, died Friday, Aug. 12, at her home.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 30, 1915, the daughter of Alphonse and Virginie Gagne Gregoire. She was educated in Lewiston schools.

She moved to Big Pine Key, Fla., and summered in Cundy’s Harbor until 2000, when she then lived at the Dominican Sisters Convent in Sabattus.

In 1935, she married John L. Charest, who died in June 1996.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and other crafts, and was greatly appreciated by her family and friends.

She is survived by two sisters, Isabelle Cyr of Auburn and Sister Marguerite Gregoire O.P., of Sabattus; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Anita Wright, in 2004; two brothers, Armand and Rosario; and three sisters, Aurore, Annette and Antoinette.
