ANDOVER – An Andover man was injured Saturday night when he drove under a moose that had run in front of his car.

Marshall Meisner, 54, was taken to Rumford Hospital, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, officials said.

His wife, Victoria, was slightly injured, police said, but she refused medical attention.

Meisner was driving north on Route 5 in Andover early Saturday night when the moose ran across the road and in front of his 1973 MGB, a tiny classic car. Meisner drove the vehicle between the moose’s legs, hitting the animal’s belly.

The moose ran into the woods.
