GREENE – “Two Old Friends,” Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, will appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, and 2 and 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Sawyer Memorial.
McHale and Hutchins have recently joined forces to sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea. They were the original founders of Northeast Winds, traveled and recorded with the Winds for nearly 15 years.
For the last 15 years, McHale has headed a successful group, Mac McHale and the Old Time Radio Gang. Hutchins has been a part of the Angel Band, a world famous Irish music group.
They will perform some of their favorites from the Northeast Winds as well as some old-time traditional country music. The program is sure to include sea songs, a good amount of hot picking instrumentals and sing-a-longs.
They will play the banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin.
