Choir concert

LIVERMORE FALLS – The First Baptist Church adult choir will present a concert of favorite hymns at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the gazebo. There is no admission, but a free will offering will be accepted during the performance.

Included in the presentation, directed by Doug Mosher, will be “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” “Rejoice in the Lord Always” and “More Love.” Diana Hirsh and Mary McBean will sing solos and the Mosher Trio, Katie, Jocelyn and Sarah, will have a special number.

In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the church, 25 Church St. A selection of homebaked goodies will be available at either location. For more information, contact Sarah Mosher at 897-6106. All are welcome.

Hyssongs concert

WILTON – The Hyssongs will present a concert of gospel music at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the East Wilton Union Church. The Hyssongs sing and travel throughout the United States and Canada.

The concert is the third of four Concerts On the Lawn being held at the church. Refreshments will follow and a free-will offering will be taken. The concert will be held indoors if weather is unfavorable. For more information, call 645-9494.

Reunion slated

JAY – The Jay High School class of 1955 will hold its 50th reunion at noon Friday, Aug. 26, at LaFleur’s Restaurant. Any classmates who have not yet notified that they will attend or have not yet submitted a letter for the “album” are asked to respond as soon as possible.

The class is inviting any interested staff member or former classmates to join them. If for lunch at 1 p.m., those interested should call 897-2670 to make a reservation or drop by after the meal.
