SABATTUS – The Sabattus PTA will hold its fourth annual Croppin’ for Kids’ Sake scrapbooking event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Sabattus Central School, 40 Ballpark Road.
The all-day extravaganza will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Early registration is recommended since the event has sold out since its inception.
All proceeds will be used to fund a variety of educational and family programs and activities for the children of Sabattus Primary and Central schools.
The Sabattus PTA members said they are happy to host this year’s event at the new Sabattus Central School. “It’s great to be able to bring this event back home,” said Rachel Charette, PTA president and Croppin’ for Kids’ Sake Committee member.
She said, “With the new Central School, we have ample room in the gymnasium and cafeteria to provide the spacious atmosphere our croppers have come to expect and enjoy. We are also proud to offer the added benefit of the new Sabattus turnpike, Exit 86, less than two miles from the school. We have had attendees come from all over New England and as far as Rhode Island.”
Charette said, “We are privileged to have the opportunity to show our croppers who have supported us in the past our new school and some of the things they have helped fund, such as the playground we were able to contribute to in order for the kids to have a fun and safe place to play.”
There will be plenty of food and beverages, lunch, supper and snacks, all located at our Croppers’ Caf. There will be eight vendors with a variety of tools and supplies.
“Our vendors are always working hard and are eager to show our croppers the latest and greatest in new products and techniques, provide make and takes and offer advice whenever needed. Whether you are a beginner or advanced scrapper, we guarantee there will be something for everyone,” said Charette. The die cut center will also return.
Due to the vendors, sponsors and donors, there will be gift bags for all registrants and door prizes and games all day. Raffle items will also be available, with the grand prize, back by popular demand, a scrapbooking weekend for 10 at a retreat center in the Tacoma Lakes area of Litchfield.
The day will also be an opportunity to help the local food pantry. Croppers are asked to bring in non-perishable food and household items, such as laundry detergent, canned goods, to assist those in need.
In turn, the items brought in will earn participants extra chances to win prizes. Last year croppers collected more than 4,000 pounds of items for the pantry.
Brochures with registration information may be obtained at several area scrapbooking stores as well as by contacting Cindy Soucy at 375-8420 or [email protected] or Rachel Charette at 375-4710 or [email protected].
