AUBURN – Gracia L. Simard, 91, formerly of 1635 Hotel Road and a resident of 85 Caron Lane, Auburn, died peacefully with family and friends by her side Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, at the Odd Fellows Home.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 10, 1914, the daughter of Louis and Leonie (Lambert) Gagnon. She attended Auburn schools and then married Hilarion Simard, and together they were married for 62 years; he died in 1993.

She enjoyed riding in the mountains, the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and playing Chinese checkers with family and friends. Sharing holidays with family was always special to her. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church.

Survivors include three sons, Paul F. Simard and his wife, Adele, of Sunset Beach, N.C., Donald J. Simard and his wife, Phyllis, of Auburn, and Robert “Bobby” Simard, also of Auburn; three daughters, Dolores Bean and her husband, Paul W., of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Lucille Poulin of Lewiston, and Louise Brown and her husband, Maurette L., of Minot; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many cousins; a friend for many years, Alice Levesque of Auburn; and three dear friends, Nancy Wells of New Gloucester, Jane Rioux of Auburn and Sue Vachon of Auburn.

The Simard family would like to thank everyone at Odd Fellows Home for the loving care they gave their mother.
