AUBURN – Shan Teixeira, a native of Lewiston, has received his board certification as an orthopedic physical therapy clinical specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association.

He is currently working at Huber Associates in Auburn as a physical therapist specializing in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy such as sprains, strains, acute and chronic pain, work and athletic injuries and rehab following fractures or surgery. The certification requires an intensive exam covering a wide array of musculo-skeletal topics including anatomy, pathology, research and clinical reasoning.

Teixeira has 12 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist and completed a master’s degree in orthopedic manual therapy through Ola Grimsby Institute in 1997. He has been published in Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy.

A graduate of Lewiston High School 1988 and the University of New England in 1993, he is also a member of American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and the American Physical Therapy Association.
