BRIDGTON – The Oxford County Democrats will hold a series of regional meetings during August. On Thursday, Aug. 18, county Democrats will join with Lakes Region Democrats for a 5:30 p.m. picnic supper at the Bridgton Town Hall.
Gov. John Baldacci, Congressman Tom Allen and Attorney General Steve Rowe will attend. There is a $10 charge for the cookout. Margaret Reimer will be the convenor.
The Oxford Hills Democrats will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Norway Town Office. Roy Gedat is coordinating the meeting, which will make plans for fall events, including the Oxford County fair and a September fund-raising supper for domestic violence causes.
River Valley Democrats will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Mexico Town Hall to plan for events, including Rep. John Patrick’s annual barbecue and additional activities throughout the fall. John Patrick, Bruce Bryant and Pam Pace will be the convenors.
The county Democrats will have a booth at the Dixfield Flea Market on Sunday, Aug. 21. Pam Pace is chairing the effort. Those with flea market items may bring them to the booth on Sunday morning or contact County Chairwoman Cathy Newell at 875-2116.
