AUBURN – In playoff action Wednesday, Meineke remained unbeaten by knocking off Major Automotive 16-9. Tom Smith was the big stick with 4 hits, including a bases-loaded double. Scott Lovejoy, Tom Wing and winning pitcher John Langelier all cracked 3 safeties. Chris Bouchard and Rocco Spugnardi were repeat hitters for the Automen, each smashing a homer. Steve Ricker was the losing hurler.

In other action, Melanson/Webber edged Reggie’s Sales Service 13-12; ESM rolled past Superior Concrete 27-9; and Uncle Andy’s defeated Tail Gators.

Two losers’ bracket games were slated to be played last night. Playoffs resume Monday, with the following schedule: Reggie’s vs winner Coastal-Motor Home, Lakeview-1, 6:00; Superior Concrete vs winner K&K Dirt Dawgs-Main-Land, Tribou, 6:00; Hart Transportation vs Tail Gators, Pett., 6:00; Sluggers vs Major Automotive, Pett., 7:30.

Playoffs continue all week. Title game is set for August 29 at 6:00 at Pettengill.

Lewiston Men

LEWISTON – BT Pallet (1) and Ducharme Masonry (3) have advanced to the finals of the National League playoffs, both winning their best-of-3 semifinal series 2-0. Wednesday, Pallet eliminated Gipper’s (4), and the Masons ousted Le National (2). The best-of-3 championship series will begin Tuesday night at Randall Road.

New England Mortgage (1) advanced to the finals of the American League playoffs Wednesday be defeating SOCHS (4) in the deciding game of their series. There was no report of Fast Breaks (3) and Ducharme Masonry B (2) in their deciding third game. The best-of-3 championship series will begin Tuesday night at Randall.
