AUBURN – The Maine Blues Society will hold the Road to Memphis Blues Competition from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Midnight Blues Club.

The competition is open to all Maine-based blues artists and will be divided into two categories: band and solo/duo. This competition is held each year to select blues artists to go on to compete in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn., in late January 2006.

The Maine Blues Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation and development of blues music as an American art form and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation, sponsor of the International Blues Challenge.
