PARIS – Jackson Silver Post, American Legion, Auxiliary members of Locke Mills served cake, ice cream and punch at the monthly birthday party for residents of the Maine Veterans Home, South Paris.

Members attending were Olive Risko, Liz Whitman, Roianne Twitchell, Honey Bailey, Sylvia Dunham, Vera Cross and Helvi Cary. Four residents had a July birthday and each received a gift.

August has been a busy month for the group. A supper/dance was held on Aug. 9 and the annual picnic on Aug. 18.

On Monday, Aug. 22, a Red Cross blood drive will be held. Any one wishing to donate may contact Olive Risko at 665-2909 or Honey Bailey at 824-0564 for an appointment. Walk-ins will also be accepted. The auxiliary meetings will resume Sept. 1. All members are encouraged to attend; new members are welcome.
