WILTON – Residents of a School Street home were awakened around 2:45 a.m. Thursday when a cinder block came crashing through the window of their front door, Police Chief Wayne Gallant said Thursday afternoon.

The suspects had fled by the time the occupants looked out the window.

Although the family said there is no indication they are being targeted, this is not the first incidence of vandalism at the home, Gallant said.

Officer Dustin Broughton said he had seen several people roaming around town earlier in the evening, but Gallant said it is unclear if they are the culprits. Broughton will be investigating the case.

The window will cost about $150 to repair.

“It’s apparent (the perpetrators) have no regard for other people’s property,” Gallant said.
