AUBURN – The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a series of courses for propane and natural gas technicians beginning Sept. 6. All courses in the series meet from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Propane/Natural Gas Technician (CETP) Basic Principles and Practices (CTP 001-21), will be held Sept. 6 to 15. It is a prerequisite to the other courses in the series and costs $340.

Other courses include Appliance Installation (CTP 002-21), Sept. 20 though Oct. 1; Appliance Service (CTP 005-21), Oct. 4 through 15; and Distribution Systems (CTP 004-21), Oct. 18 though Nov. 8. Appliance Installation and Service are $418 and Distribution is $544.

All prices include the state licensing exam, which will be administered during the last class, and the cost of the books. Anthony Leclair, who is licensed by the Maine Propane and Natural Gas Board, will teach all three courses.
