CARTHAGE – Law enforcers pulled up another 200 marijuana plants in Franklin County on Thursday, this time in South Carthage, Franklin County sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said.

The plants were found scattered throughout a large logging area, he said.

That brings the marijuana plant eradication effort this year to about 1,500 plants. Officials say they would be valued at more than $2 million if the plants had matured.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Department in Thursday’s effort were the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and a military helicopter and crew.
