LEWISTON – Yvonne B. Bussiere, 84, of 74 McNamara St., died Wednesday, Aug. 17, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

Born in Skinner, April 2, 1921, a daughter of Theophile and Rose Raymond Boutin, she was educated in Lac Megantic schools.

She was married to Henry D. Bussiere, May 28, 1955; he died June 26, 2004.

She worked at Central Maine Medical Center in the housekeeping department.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish. In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and in later years she enjoyed meeting family and friends at Range Pond, playing cards, and her daily outings and walks with her husband, Henry. One was never seen without the other.

In 1961, after the death of her sister-in-law, Bertha, she and her husband took over the responsibility of overseeing the care of Bertha’s 10 children. One of their nieces, Carol, moved in with them at that time. Over the years, many of Bertha’s children lived with Henry and Yvonne.

She is survived by nieces and spouses, Carol and Jay Bernard, Nancy Jackson, Sonia and Raymond Dallaire, and Donna Serog; nephews and spouses, Edwin and Carol, Norman and Linda, Ronald and Jeannine, Danny and Rita, John and Cathy Johansen, and Michael and Anne Caron; her granddaughters, Kristen and Carrie Bernard; her sisters, Rose Lebrun and Jeannette Sinotte; her brother, Lucien Boutin; her sister-in-law, Collette Martin; her godchild, Jackie Awugha; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Helen Couture; and a brother, Armand Pratt.
