There will be fun for everyone, including a barbecue, DJ, firetruck, mad science, carnival games, magician, dunk tank, Maine Event cheer all-stars and face painting.

For more information or to make a donation, contact the center at 655 Main St., Lewiston, ME 04240 or fax 207-786-7277.

The center is a nonprofit educational center addressing the needs of children with autism and related disorders.

The disorders generally manifest within the first three years of life and affect communication, social interaction, coping and daily living skills.

The number of students diagnosed with autism is on the rise in Maine.

Through the use of positive behavioral support methodologies, which are driven by the needs of the child, the center develops individualized treatment plans for the children at the center.

The money raised through the walk has funded parent education, staff scholarships, sibling support groups, as well as new learning materials.

In the past two years, the school and the community have joined to make the event successful.
