Car show

DIXFIELD – Dirigo High School class of 2006 will hold a car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Harlow Park. Divisions will be: best of ’49 and below; best of 50s; best of 60s; best of 70s; best of 80s; best of 90s to present; 4×4 trucks; minis; motorcycles; hot rods; one best chrome and one best of show.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third in all divisions, and awards will be held at 2:30 p.m. A $5 entry fee for show cars, includes driver and one passenger. Gymnastics

RUMFORD – There will be an open house for the season of gymnastics from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Meet the coaches, sign up for classes, get calendar schedules and meet some competitive gymnasts. Open to children ages 3 to 18 and also offer cheer tumble. FMI: call Greater Rumford Community Center at 369-9906 or Louanne at 364-8607.

Oktoberfest crafts

RUMFORD – Tables are still available for the Oktoberfest sponsored by the Rumford Area Rotary and scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Adult Activity Center on Lincoln Avenue.

Crafters and other groups and individuals will be allowed to set up from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, and 7:30 a.m. on the day of the show. A single table space is $20 and a double is $35. Checks should be made out to the Rumford Area Rotary and mailed to Joe Sirois, 85 Lincoln Ave., Rumford, ME 04276. Applicants should include their name, address, phone number and the type of business, craft or activity. The need for electricity should also be indicated. For more information, contact Joe Sirois at 364-4561. There is no fee to attend Oktoberfest and the public is welcome.
