BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) – Three people were found dead Wednesday inside an apartment building where police say they have been called previously to investigate drug dealing.
The bodies of a woman and two men were found in different rooms of a first-floor apartment on Charles Street just after 10 a.m., said Police Capt. Lynn Kerwin.
“From what we can see, they were probably gunshot wounds,” said Kerwin.
Police were not releasing the names of the victims Wednesday afternoon. Autopsies were scheduled for today.
No arrests had been made, and Kerwin said police are not sure of the motive for the killings.
“Right now, it’s really early on in the investigation,” she said. “We are talking to several individuals.”
Kerwin said police have been called to the apartment building several times. The building is located across the street from a church and several vacant and boarded-up buildings near the center of Bridgeport.
“There have been reports of narcotics trafficking in and around that building,” Kerwin said.
Shakuntala Patel said she owns the apartment building with her husband and heard a woman’s screams coming from the apartment Wednesday morning.
A lot of people would come and go from the first-floor apartment, and there had been arguments there about money, Patel said.
