NORWAY – Kenneth E. Coolidge, 84, of East Dixfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway. He had been a resident of the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris since February.

He was born, March 10, 1921, at the family farm on Severy Hill in East Dixfield, the son of Harry and Alma (Packard) Coolidge.

On June 27, 1947, he married Mildred Dill in Wilton. They made their home in East Dixfield, raising three children.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked at the Wilton Woolen Mill before going to work for and retiring from International Paper Co. in Jay.

He was a member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post No. 3335 in Jay, and various area snowmobile clubs over the years. He loved being in the outdoors and all of its activities, including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four- wheeling, which he did up until very recently.

One of his greatest joys in life was time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of East Dixfield; a son, Marvin K. Coolidge and his wife, Lucille, of Farmington, their children, Kyle Coolidge and Kory Coolidge and his wife, Shanelle, and their children, Korinne and Kaidence; two daughters, Sherry Burhoe and her husband, Hal, of Canton, their son, James Burhoe and his wife, Rebecca, and their daughter, Hannah, and CindyLou Gergler of Scarborough, and her children, Kristopher and Akaishia Gergler; a brother, Richard Coolidge of Mexico; four sisters, Dot Dakin of Wilton, Jean Brann of Wilton, Mary Collins of Dixfield and Beatrice Hanson of Arizona.

He was predeceased by four brothers, infant Elwood, Chester, Lester and John.
