BRUNSWICK – Norman A. Wing, 86, of Woolwich, died Monday, Aug. 22, at a hospital in Brunswick.

He was born in North Monmouth on Feb. 17, 1919, a son of Arland and Dora (Hamilton) Wing. He attended schools in Monmouth and the University of Maine at Orono.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Japan during World War II.

He was employed by the Maine Department of Agriculture for 26 years.

He was a member of the Monmouth Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Prince Wing of Woolwich; one daughter, Carole W. Rideout of Chelsea; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Downing of Bath; two sisters, Gailian Magrueder of Maryland and Diane Jewell of Brunswick; one brother, Wallace Wing of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
