FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Animal Shelter is featuring as Pet of the Week a little Terrier mix who goes by the name of Zippy.

Zippy came to the shelter as a private surrender because his owners no longer had time for him. Zippy is approximately 9 years old, and although that is considered old by most, someone forgot to tell him that. It is clear to staff that Zippy has many good years left and his playful antics keep them entertained.

Zippy has lived with cats, rabbits and children and did well with all three. He has played with some of the other dogs here and he did well, but it is clear that Zippy considers himself to be “Top Dog.”

Zippy’s two favorite things are his toys and his belly rubs. Staff feels Zippy would benefit from a high energy home with children to keep him active and happy.

A new dog at the shelter is a female pointer mix puppy brought in from Industry.
