JAY – Police are investigating the theft of a John Deere lawn tractor valued at more than $3,000 that was stolen Saturday from a residence on the Chesterville Road.

The tractor was taken around 4 p.m., Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said Wednesday.

The tractor was pushed onto a trailer which was driven away toward Chesterville, he said. Chesterville Road is also known as Route 156.

The tractor is a John Deere LT 180.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Jay Police Department at 897-6766. Officer Rod Small is the investigating the case.
