AUBURN – The Auburn Public Library will start its monthly Let’s Talk About It book discussions series, the American Revolutionary Generation, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the library in the Auburn Mall. Retired history professor John Sutherland, will lead the group to explore the fascinating people, events and ideas behind the fight for Independence.

The first book in this series is “The American Revolution” written by the Gordon S. Wood. In this short introduction the American Revolution, Gordon helps readers to understand the revolution and how it served to create this country’s sense of national hood and national purposes.

Sutherland attended the University of Maine and received his Ph.D. from Temple University. Most recently he taught history at Connecticut State University and Manchester Community College.
