DIXFIELD – Myriad cheerful colors filled the Dixfield Historical Society’s exhibition halls on Aug. 21 as local flower and plant enthusiasts exhibited and competed for awards at the third annual flower show.
Competition was keen as judges, the Rev. and Mrs. Glendon Gammon of Peru, made the following awards by class: bouquet of wild flowers, first Donna Towle, Dixfield; bouquet of cut garden flowers: first Charlotte Collins, Dixfield, second Vickie Brown, East Dixfield, third Althea Fish, Dixfield.
Potted plant: first Frances DeFilippe, Mexico, second Dee Holman, Roxbury; single flower: Katie Manzer, Peru; miniature bouquet: first Althea Fish, Dixfield.
All classes competition: best of show, Charlotte Collins, Dixfield; first award, Vickie Brown, East Dixfield; second award, Katie Manzer, Peru; third award, Althea Fish, Dixfield; honorable mention, Donna Towle, Dixfield, people’s choice award, Althea Fish, Dixfield.
