SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Washington Nationals have promoted Auburn pitcher Bryan Lambert to their Single-A affiliate.
Lambert reported to the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League Thursday. Savannah is Washington’s mid-level Class A affiliate, one level higher than Vermont in the New York-Penn League and one level below Potomac in the Carolina League.
The 6-foot-9 righthander was 3-1 with a 1.54 ERA and a save in 10 games with Washington’s rookie affiliate, the Gulf Coast Nationals. He fanned 16, walked five and gave up 21 hits in 23.1 innings pitched. All but one of his appearances were in relief.
Lambert, 23, was signed by Washington as an undrafted free agent in mid-June.
