Trump to cameo on other ‘Apprentice’

Martha Stewart and Mark Burnett are stressing that her version of “The Apprentice” will have a different look and tone from Donald Trump’s show. But they aren’t distancing themselves entirely from the original, either.

In fact, Stewart says Trump will put in an appearance on her show, which debuts Wednesday, Sept. 21 on NBC – a day before the fourth Trump-led “Apprentice” begins.

“Donald will be on the show in a cameo where he takes a tour of the loft where the candidates are housed,” Stewart told reporters Thursday at a news conference. “It’s quite different” from the Trump Tower suite where contestants in the original show live, she adds.

Reality writers file suit, again

Ten writers and editors who worked on such unscripted shows as “Joe Millionaire” and “Married by America” are suing the Fox network and the shows’ producer, claiming they were forced to work in “sweatshop” conditions.

The suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses the network and Rocket Science Laboratories, the producer of the seven shows the plaintiffs worked on, of repeatedly violating California labor laws that govern overtime pay, wages and meal breaks.

Smits joins Emmys

Emmy winner Jimmy Smits and Jennifer Love Hewitt, who isn’t an Emmy winner but has a show on CBS this season, are among the latest round of presenters added to the 57th annual Primetime Emmys.
