ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – A 61-year-old woman is recovering after being abducted from her home and forced into her car’s trunk.

The woman told police a man in his 20s came to the door Thursday afternoon and said he had a gun. She said she had seen the man a day earlier when he came to the door saying he was taking a government survey on smoking.

Even though the woman was bound with duct tape, and blindfolded, she was able to escape. She was not hurt.

Police said the motive probably was robbery.

They are looking for the kidnapper.
