MONMOUTH – An open house was held on May 28 for Ardeen Waldo and Virginia Mae Ayer of Galion, Ohio, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was planned by their children and held at the Ontario United Methodist Church in Ontario, Ohio, where family and friends attended from Florida, Maine, New York, Ohio and Michigan.
They spent their anniversary on a trip to Branson, Mo., and visited the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Ayer and the former Ginny Fayle were united in marriage on June 25, 1955, at the North Monmouth Community Church in North Monmouth, by the Rev. Joseph LeMaster.
They have two sons and their spouses, Bruce and Penny Ayer of Bangor, and Christopher and Connie Ayer of Ontario, Ohio, and a daughter, Marianne Gorby of Cardington, Ohio. They also have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Ayer is retired from North Electric/ITT Power Systems of Galion, Ohio, after 32 years. Mrs. Ayer is retired from Galion Iron Works/Komatsu of Galion, Ohio, after 27 years.
They are both currently in good health and are enjoying their golden years.
