LEWISTON – HealthSteps will be starting its fall program on Monday, Sept. 12. Classes take place at Bates College Merrill Gymnasium with use of the indoor track, pool and multi-purpose room for aerobic classes. Classes scheduled for the fall include: lap swim, swim lessons, aquatic fitness, swim training, walk/jog, boot camp, exercise ball, step aerobics, let’s dance, tone and abs, time to stretch and weighted workout.

The convenience of early morning classes works nicely for many current members who like to fit in a good workout before heading off to work. It also works out great for those who are retired and like to get an early start to their day.

Other classes offered through HealthSteps include ballroom dance, yoga, Tai Chi, Weight Watchers and tobacco cessation. These classes are scheduled in the evening for those looking for something after work hours.

HealthSteps is part of the Prevention and Wellness Services offered through St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. The program is an award-winning health education and prevention program for adults. At HealthSteps you will get a program that meets the needs of the whole person – body, mind and spirit.
