NORWAY – Harry Linwood Whittum Jr., 60, died Monday, Aug. 29, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, surrounded by his loving sisters.
He was born on July 21, 1945, at Norway Hospital. He was the son of Harry L. Whittum, Sr. and Isadore G. (Edwards) (Whittum) Von Kahle.
He worked for many years at Central Maine Medical Center as a dishwasher.
He will be remembered and missed by many.
He was noted for his unique sense of humor, his wonderful stories, and his gentle and kind nature. He had recently lived at Norway Convenient Living Center and Retirement Home, and then at Ledgewood Nursing Home in West Paris.
Survivors include his mother, Isadore Von Kahle, of Norway; sisters, Helen E. McCowen of South Paris, Valma B. Walker of South Paris, Ruth E. Paine of Oxford, Patsy Ryan of Lewiston, and Nancy Snape of Lisbon Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his special friends, Sandy Watkins and Marcia Weeks.
He was predeceased by his father; a brother, Robert Maurice; and a sister, Sharon Whittum.
