CASCO – The public is invited to the Cumberland County Extension Association’s annual meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road. The event is free and open to the public. For directions, call Colleen Hoyt at 1-800-287-1471.

Staff from Camp Sunshine will give the keynote address. They will talk about the history of Camp Sunshine and the programs they provide to children with life threatening illnesses and their families. Martin Berwick, master gardener, will also give a presentation about the therapeutic gardens he has helped design and maintains at the camp.

The meeting will be followed by a dessert social – the entries of the pie bake-off contest (with cash prizes). The public is invited to enter the bake-off and share a favorite pie. All recipes will become part of a Cooperative Extension cookbook.
