The Boston Red Sox recalled infielder Kevin Youkilis from Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday and optioned right-hander Manny Delcarmen to Pawtucket.
Youkilis batted .288 with one homer run and nine RBI in four stints with the Red Sox this season.
He hit .322 with 15 doubles, a triple, eight home runs and 22 RBIs in Pawtucket.
