WILTON – Forty-four Wilton Academy Alumni members and guests attended the annual reunion held recently at Harnden Hall in North Chesterville. After a time of socializing and viewing old yearbooks and other memorabilia, the group enjoyed a potluck supper.

Thayden Farrington, president, conducted the business meeting and it was voted to retain the same officers for another year. Gerold Toothaker is vice president and Edith Masterman, secretary-treasurer.

Maurice Whitten of Gorham, science teacher at the academy from 1945 to 1948, spoke briefly, mentioning names of students he had in some of his classes (which brought back memories to those attending the reunion). He said he and his wife, Doris, visited that day with former WA history teacher, Romolo Lorenzi, at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center. Phil Raymond reported visiting with Wayne Mayo in Dexter. Wayne, class of 1948, had an aneurysm in his head and has been cared for by his wife, Joan, for the past 20 years.

The necrology report revealed the following had passed away since the last reunion: Evelyn Legge Miller, Paul McKeen, Blair Trask, Mary Louise Baker Gabbert Hobart, William Turner, Alice Farrington Belanger, Harland Adams, Althea Parker Adams, Kenneth Rand, Robert Brooks, Lita Hatch Smith, Hollis Lake, Helen Kyes Brown, Eleanor Trask Nadeau, Theo Scott, Donald Kenney and Alberta Parker Raymond.

Stanley and Robin Harnden and Dawn Harnden Smith provided music following the meeting.
