Anniversary

BRYANT POND – Franklin Grange 124 will host its 130th anniversary from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the hall, Main Street. A buffet lunch will follow a program of history, skits, a monologue by Russell Yates and music by the Richard G. Felt Band.

Society meeting

LOCKE MILLS – The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the historical building on Main Street.

Anyone is welcome.

Chicken supper

PARIS – A chicken pie supper will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Legion Hall, Church Street, South Paris.

The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit the activity committee of the Western Maine Veterans Home.

Dance season

SOUTH PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears will open a new season of square dancing and round dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street. Caller will be Lee Kennedy; cuer, Scott Williams.

Paine reunion

OXFORD – The descendants of Frank and Eva Cooper Paine met on Aug. 21 at the home of Eugene and Mary Record in East Oxford.

More than 90 relatives and friends filled the big barn, with tables lined the length of the barn for a potluck dinner.

Photos were taken and albums past reunions on display.

Leona Paine Record was the oldest member present and Peter Morrison III was the youngest at 10 months.

Relatives came from Antiock, Calif., and from Portland, Lewiston, Waterford, West Paris, Bethel, Norway, Otisfield and Oxford.
