DIXFIELD – The Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Aug. 17 at the Dixfield Legion with 55 present. The session was called to order by President Connie Tutlis.

Observing an August anniversary were Larry and Edna Kerr, 57 years. Observing August birthdays were John Bernard, Paula MacDonald, Nila Martineau and Kitty Flaherty. New members welcomed were Richard and Jessie Shelskis.

A moment of silent prayer was observed in memory of Omer Breton. Door prizes were won by Greta Weston and Hector Girardin. Anita Wiles from SeniorsPlus and Rob Clark from Social Security were present to give a short presentation on the upcoming Medicare Prescription Program. A Chinese auction was held after a potluck dinner.

Upcoming trips include the Balsams on Sept. 27, $39; Fryeburg Fair, free; and Indian Head, October Fest, Oct. 17, $42.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, with a potluck dinner followed by entertainment by Silver and Gold. Membership is open to anyone age 50 and over. New members are welcome. For more information, call Tutlis at 364-4189.
