AUBURN – The National Society of High School Scholars has announced that Edward Little High School student Kelly Davis has been selected for membership.

The society recognizes the top scholars in the nation and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence. The announcement was made by Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family.

“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice and commitment that Kelly has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence,” said Nobel. “Kelly is now a member of a unique community of scholars – a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”

Davis, 16, is the daughter of Scott and Holly Davis of Buckfield. She is a junior at Edward Little High School where she is a member of the Latin Club, chamber choir, drama club, show choir and is an honor roll student. She is also a member of the cross country, alpine ski and tennis teams.

Davis has served as a Maine delegate for the Junior Statesmen of America and is listed in the “Who’s Who Among American High School Students” for her freshmen and sophomore years. She recently attended summer school at the New York Film Academy in Orlando. She is a 10-year student of piano and dance.
