LEWISTON – Linda Patricia Boehlert, 57, of Auburn, beloved mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Virginia and Richard McAbee.

Linda grew up on Long Island in New York. She graduated from Hofstra College in Hempstead, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in English. She met and married her husband while attending college. They moved to Ellenville, N.Y., where daughters Elizabeth and Mary were born. A job transfer took the family to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where youngest daughter Victoria was born and where the family lived for 10 years prior to Linda’s and her children’s relocation to Maine in 1995.

Linda worked at the jewelry counter at Service Merchandise until its closure, then at Lewiston Bottled Gas before joining the Sun Journal as a customer service representative. She had worked at the newspaper for the past six years. All will remember her quick and easy smile.

Her favorite times were spent with those she loved, her children, grandchildren and friends. She was known as a mom to all who crossed her path. Her best times were spent with her children and grandchildren, and she happily attended daughter Victoria’s soccer and softball games. Linda was also involved in any worthy cause, helping out the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, American Heart Association, WalkAmerica and many other causes close to her heart.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart parish, where she served as eucharistic minister until her death.

She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth Ann and Richard Barriault of Missouri; Mary Kateri Boehlert and her fiance, Jeffrey Dean Randall of Lewiston, and Victoria Lynn Boehlert of Auburn.

She is also sorely missed by Fred Theriault of Lewiston, her closest friend with whom she planned on being with forever.

She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Barriault and 1-week-old Hope Ann Barriault of Missouri and Destiny Marie Randall of Lewiston.

She is also survived by a brother, Richard McAbee, and his family. She was predeceased by an infant sister and her parents, Virginia and Richard McAbee.
