GREENE – Greene Village Celebration will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, starting at 7 a.m. with a health walk.
A blueberry pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. will be followed by a parade at 9:30. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the newly renovated Greene Central School will be offered and at 11 a.m. there will be a Firemen’s Muster with five area towns participating,
A mother/son versus father/daughter softball game will take place and the day will end with a baked bean supper at the VFW Post 11032 and music by “Specter” from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Androscoggin Grange.
Other events throughout the day will include a chicken barbecue, karate demonstration, agricultural speakers, pie contest, Countryside Dancers, frog-jumping contest, kids’ games, petting zoo, pony rides, baby show, Mr Legs contest, Civil War demonstration and railroad display.
