FARMINGTON – Keith N. “Bubba” Seeley, 74, of Farmington, changed his residence to heaven where he joined Janet, his beloved wife of 50 years. He passed on Monday, Sept. 5, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, following a courageous six-year battle with lung disease, in the loving arms and warmth of his family.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1930, in Wyman Plantation, the son of Webster and Elsie (Hines) Seeley. He married the love of his life, Janet Barbara French, on Dec. 23, 1950. They lived in Kingfield and Stratton, moving to Farmington in 1953. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 23, 2000, with family.

He received his formal education from schools in Wyman Plantation and Stratton, but his greatest source of learning was from his life experiences. He began his work at the age of 11 when he was wingman on the local plow truck for Mr. Fotter and he also worked in the woods at that time with his father. Over the years he was a driver and heavy equipment operator for Dead River Co., and Kenneth Packard.

He and his brothers were the original crew to build the access road to the now famous Sugarloaf Mountain USA. His passion and lifetime work of lumbering, which he later had a partnership with his son, Danny, ended in 1992 after an accident which forced his retirement. After retirement, he volunteered with the share food program and the local Care and Share Food Closet.

His passions in life were his family, camping which he and Janet enjoyed until her passing, talking to friends on the phone, bird watching and most of all, spending time with his six great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children and their families from Farmington, daughter, Deborah L. Seeley and companion, William Sumner; granddaughters, Buffy Emmons and her children, Jose’ E. and Iliana L. Marquez, and Melissa White and her husband, Kenyada; daughter, Diane Bolduc and husband, Michael; grandson, Michael II and wife, Julie; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brooke; grandson, Joey and wife, Valerie; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Camden; son, Daniel Seeley and wife, Debra, and dogs Cierra, Cooper and Colby; mother-in-law, Roberta W. French and most beloved dog and constant companion, Crissy; sisters, Angie Campbell and Olive Simms and their families, all of Massachusetts.
