Dear Sun Spots: In the Friday, Aug. 26, paper there was a very small article on Allegiant Airlines, having service between Portsmouth, N.H., and Orlando, Fla. I have never flown out of Portsmouth, and is this Orlando International or Orlando, Sanford airport?

Would you please have any information on these airports, car rentals available and how far in advance does this airline book? Thank you. – S. Stewart, No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots checked out the Web site which announced the new nonstop service from $39, plus tax, each way. Describing itself as a low-cost airline, Allegiant will fly from Portsmouth, N.H. at Pease International Airport, beginning Oct. 28, to Florida. The new flights will operate four times weekly, with service Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Flights will depart Portsmouth at 6:40 p.m. arriving in Orlando at 9:45 p.m. Flights leaving Orlando will depart at 3:05 p.m. arriving at Portsmouth at 6:05 p.m. (all flight times are local.). Reservations may be made through the company’s Web site at www.allegiantair.com, the airline’s Reservations Center at 800-432-3810 or through professional travel agents. Allegiant’s $39 one-way introductory fare is limited, not available on all flights and must be purchased by Sept. 14, for travel through Jan. 31, 2006. Fares are not available on the following blackout dates: Nov. 23-27, Dec. 22-31 and Jan. 1-4, 2006. After the introductory fare period, regular fares on the route will range from $79 to $189 each way. All travel is ticketless, all fares are one-way and a Saturday-night stay is never required.

Dear Sun Spots: First, I would like to thank all the Sun Spots readers who continue to send our school, Open Door Christian Academy, their Campbell’s soup labels and General Mills box tops. We are still collecting these items and we have added to our fund-raising efforts Hannaford help School certificates; Tyson labels; used inkjet, laser and toner cartridges; and old cell phones. If any Sun Spots readers would like to help our small school in collecting these items, we would be very grateful. These items can be dropped off or mailed to our school. Our address is 26 Gartley St. Lisbon, Me 04250 c/o Pat Holt. Thank you again for your support. – Pat Holt, Open Door Christian Academy, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I have four flat-panel oak kitchen cabinet doors that I would like to have glass panes inserted into. The glass company has instructed me to find someone to router out the inside panels (approximately 9½ inches wide by 24½ inches high in size). Do you know of anyone who would do such a small job – but a good job – I would pay, of course? Thank you very much for your help. – Diane Nadeau, Greene.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots would encourage you to try contacting Dean Hinckley of Wales. You can reach him at (207) 375-6163 to see if he can assist you. Hinckley does odd jobs such as repairs, mowing, tree trimming, snow plowing and painting.
