LEWISTON – The Lewiston and Auburn Republican city committees will sponsor a political rally and Italian dinner Friday, Sept. 16, at the Elks Club, 1675 Lisbon Road.

The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by the dinner and entertainment, music, dancing skits and prizes. The fund-raiser will benefit the Twin City Republican organizations and bring together state House and Senate GOP leaders, gubernatorial and legislative candidates, college Republicans, friends and supporters. The cost is $25 a person.

Rep. Bob Berube will emcee this event and music will be provided by Mike Vaughan and the Moonlighters with singer Bonnie Edwards. Rep. Vaughan and his fellow musicians have performed at many functions around the state, including the state Legislature this past session. Their music is a mixture of swing, upbeat blues, Boogie-boogie, Cajun and rock n’ roll.

Berube is a local Realtor who represents District 104 and serves on the Business, Research and Economic Development Committee.

For tickets or more information, phone Rosemarie Butler at 782-6373. Serving on the Committee are Georgia Chomas, Rep. Tom Shields, Kathy Gleason, Tom Boyer, Doug Hodgkin, Stavros Mendros, Barry Putnam, Bob Macdonald and Butler.
