AUBURN – The Edward Little High School class of 1950 met on Aug. 17 at Martindale Country Club to observe its 55th year since graduation. At mid-century, the school graduated 258 seniors. Attending this year’s reunion were 65; 45 classmates with spouses and friends.

Staircases were draped with the school colors and the dining room was festooned with streamers of maroon and white. A current list of classmates’ e-mail and street addresses was provided at the registration table along with name tags.

Using senior photos from the yearbook, the Reunion Committee had created a framed memorial of the 59 deceased classmates. During a short program following dinner, a candle was lighted and a moment of silence was observed in honor of deceased classmates.

“Oldies” music during dinner was provided by the Roger Renaud Trio. Shauna Vaillancourt sang most numbers with Mark Morin, guitarist, adding his voice to one or two pieces.

Ronald Hart presented a brief program to bring class members up to date on the status of Alumni Fund contributions. Several who were unable to attend the reunion contributed. The program concluded with the singing of the school song.

Co-chairs of the next reunion will be Hart and Marni Geilear-Field. Several suggestions for arranging future reunions have been received. Among the ideas were to have more frequent and casual gatherings. Mini-reunions have been held annually at Korn-Haus-Keller for the past several years.
