CASCO – The wedding of Rebecca Dawn Plotkin and Jeffrey Carroll Howes was held at 4 p.m. on May 29 at Migis Lodge at Sebago Lake. Rabbi Carolyn Braun officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Howes is the daughter of Larry and Lisa Plotkin of Portland. Mr. Howes is the son of Dr. Carroll and Sandra Howes of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Canton.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a full-length satin gown with pearls and beaded embroidery and a long train. She carried a bouquet of white roses, lilacs and orange blossoms.
Rachel Vegas was matron of honor for her sister and Shelley Elbert, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Lexie Zammer, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
Mark Elbert, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man and ushers were Gabriel Plotkin, brother of the bride, and John Vegas, brother-in-law of the bride. David Plotkin, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Migis Lodge in Casco, where the tables were decorated with baskets of lavender and white flowers. After a wedding trip to Florida and cruise to Key West, Belize, Cozumel and Progresso in Mexico, the couple is residing in Westbrook.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. She served in the Peace Corps for two years in Jamaica and is currently regional community relations coordinator for Hannaford Bros. in Scarborough.
The bridegroom is currently in his senior year at the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring in geology and geography. He is employed at Kingsley Pines in Raymond.
