AUBURN – Kevin Latendresse of South Portland, a member of the electromechanical/telecommunications technology faculty at Central Maine Community College, has received the Star Award for his contributions to the Next Step program, a partnership between Verizon and its workers and community colleges in five New England states and New York.

In nominating him for the recognition, Maurice Nadeau, chairman of the department, cited Latendresse especially for his work with students and incorporating their feedback to improve the quality of instruction.

The Next Step program prepares Verizon employees to “stay apace with the advancing technology” of the telecommunications industry. CM is one of only two colleges in Maine to offer the program.
