FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital will host a presentation on “Living Better with Lung Disease and Chronic Illness” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Bass Room. Individuals affected by lung disease and chronic illness as well as their families, caregivers and medical providers are invited to attend.
The presentation will feature information on traditional and nontraditional therapies, new medications, benefits of exercise, a patient’s perspective and the value of a support group. The featured speaker will be Dr. Mark Lund, a physician who provides pulmonary specialty services at Franklin Memorial Hospital. There will be time for questions and answers.
Following the presentation from 2:30 to 4 p.m., attendees will be invited to browse the displays and chat with the local health exhibitors. They will include Sandy Laurel River, acupuncture; Barbara O’Reilly, yoga; Farmington Medical Supplies and Services; Margaret Taylor; Amethyst Health Services, Meredith Kendall, RNC, Tim Ketcham, LMT, NCTMB, Joyce Murphy, RN, MSN, and Betsy Robbins, RN; Deborah Clague, massage therapy; Lincare National Homecare Suppliers; American Home Patient; and HealthQuest.
The program is being provided free as a public service through funding by a pharmaceutical company.
