Society supper
WEST PARIS – The West Paris Historical Society will have a potluck supper at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, with a meeting to follow at 7 p.m. Election of officers will be held and Sayward Lamb will show and tell on wood carving. The entertainment portion is open to the public, and anyone wishing to join the society is asked to bring something for the meal. For more information, call Betty Jones at 674-2504.
Sunday service
NORWAY – The Sunday service for Sept. 18 at the First Universalist Church, Norway, Unitarian Universalist, 479 Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Child care will be provided.
Choir practice will be at 9:30 a.m. with Heather Pierson, music director. Those who sing are invited to participate in the choir. The service will be led by the Rev. Herb Adams, retired minister. His sermon topic will be “The Healing Power of Forgiveness.”
After the service coffee hour will be held. All are invited.

No meeting
OXFORD – There will be no meeting in September for the Lake Thompson Senior Citizens because Sept. 15 comes on the same day as Senior’s Day at Oxford County Fair. The next meeting will be on Oct. 20. Watch for time and place.
Planning
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills One Book One Community Planning Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Norway Memorial Library. Anyone interested in helping with the finance, reading groups, publicity, children and adult programming committees is invited to attend.
Trail work
NORTH CONWAY, N.H. – Adopt-a-Crag Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, around Cathedral Ledge off Routes 16/302. The workday is dedicated to preserving trails that access climbing routes for future use.
Those interested should meet at the kiosk at the base of the ledge at 9 a.m. Bring long pants, work gloves, water and lunch. Tools and instruction will be provided. No pre-registration is required.
