FARMINGTON – Law enforcers uprooted another 81 pot plants Wednesday and Thursday in Franklin County, continuing their effort to diminish the illegal crop.

So far, the county sheriff’s department, with assistance from other agencies, has eradicated more than 1,500 pot plants this year with a street value of more than $2 million if the plants had reached maturity, according to police.

Fifty-three plants were seized from Industry, Carrabassett Valley, New Vineyard and Phillips on Wednesday and 28 were uprooted in Carthage on Thursday, Lt. Niles Yeaton of the sheriff’s department said Thursday.
