TURNER – Cub Scout Pack 187 will have registrations at the following locations: Thursday, Sept. 15, at Turner Primary School from 6 to 7 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 22, at Turner Elementary School from 6 to 7 p.m.
Scouts will have their first pack meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Nezinscot Lodge. All Scouts are expected to attend and registrations for those who were unable to attend previous registrations will be held as well.

Ministers share
PHILLIPS – The Phillips Shared Ministry has announced the following ministers have been scheduled for Sunday services: Sept. 18, Yvonne Woodcock of Kingfield; Sept. 25, Judy Dill of Kingfield. Both services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church.
Beginning Oct. 2, services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Community House. The Rev. Margaret Proctor of Wilton will lead the Oct. 2 service.
Art exhibit
FARMINGTON – The works of abstract-expressionist painter Harold Garde will be shown from Sept. 15 through Oct. 20 at the UMF Art Gallery on Main Street. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the gallery.
Twenty years ago, New York painter Garde opened his studio in Belfast. Ever since he has been a presence in the Maine art community. This exhibition brings together Garde’s expressionist canvases, monoprints and strappo works (a technique that Garde invented, a hybrid of acrylic painting and printmaking) from his time in Maine.
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday except Saturday, Sept. 24, when the hours will be from 9 a.m. to noon. All events are free and open to the public.
Kids ID program
FARMINGTON – The 15th District Masonic Association of the Grand Lodge of Maine will sponsor a Child’s Indentification Program from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the old secretary’s office at the Farmington Fairgrounds during Farmington Fair.
Math fun
AVON – SAD 58 Adult and Community Education will offer “Community Math for Fun and Review” from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 26 at the Opportunity Center of North Franklin County.
The 22-week course will cover decimals, percentages, fractions, the metric system, basic accounting principles, banking issues, understanding loans and insurance premiums. The instructor will be Mike DeRaps. A minimum of eight students must register to run the class. The cost of the course, worth one adult education credit, is $50.

Finance class
AVON – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community will offer a five-session “Financing Your Future” training at the Opportunity Center of North Franklin County on four Mondays and a Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3, 17 and Nov. 1, 14 and 28.
In the free workshop, participants may explore their attitudes and beliefs about money, look at their financial situation, create a savings plan and discuss the wise use of credit. They willl learn money management and budgeting ideas to help them meet their personal financial goals.
