MECHANIC FALLS – A Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament will be held at the Vineyard Church on Saturday, Sept. 24. Sponsored by FUEL, an extension of the church’s youth ministry, the event will be open to teenagers age 13 to 18.

The teams will be divided into two divisions: ages 13 to 15 and 16 to 18. Teams may be co-ed and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. Registration will be at 8 a.m. and the games will begin at 9 a.m. No fee.

The event will also feature a Hot Shot individual competition open to all teens whether they are on a team for the tournament or not. Concessions will be sold. Donations have been coming from area businesses to help offset the cost and more are welcome.

FUEL, which meets most Friday nights, is an outreach to area teens. It provides a safe place for young people to hang out, eat food, play games and discuss issues of life.

Some of the special events have included Sumo wrestling, Six Flags trips and theme movie nights. All teens ages 13 and up are welcome to attend from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays.

Teams are encouraged to preregister before the tournament and can do so by contacting Tammy Gamache at 743-2765 or Tim McKellick at 345-3487. Registration forms can also be downloaded by visiting www.freewebs.com/fuelteens.
