FARMINGTON – Senior Heidi Judkins found the back of the net off a pass from Michelle Oswald with 10:47 left to play in the second half to give Mt. Blue a 1-0 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC field hockey matchup.
Mt. Blue’s (2-2) Ashley Lewia recorded five saves for the shutout.
Marry Martin kept Edward Little (0-4) in the game with 17 saves in net.
Mt. Ararat 1, Lewiston 0
LEWISTON – Michelle Glenn scored the game-winning goal in the second half on a feed from Sami Brooks to give Mt. Ararat a 1-0 victory over Lewiston in varsity field hockey action Tuesday. Mt. Ararat’s (1-3) Tabitha Cornish only needed five saves for the shutout.
Katie Grant made 18 saves in net for the Blue Devils (0-4).
Yarmouth 2, Gray-New Gloucester 0
GRAY – Andrea Michel and Nicole Grover drilled shots into the back of the net Tuesday to lead Yarmouth to a 2-0 shutout over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC field hockey action.
Sarah Penrose contributed with an assist on Michel’s goal. Lauren Duncan made five saves in net for the Clippers (2-2).
Samantha Bishop handled goalkeeping duties for the Patriots (0-4), turning away five shots on the day.
Oxford Hills 2, Lawrence 0
FAIRFIELD – Hannah Strause and Tia Pratt both tallied goals Tuesday to lead Oxford Hills to a 2-0 victory over Lawrence in a KVAC matchup.
Sam Dolloff and Jaimee Brett contributed with assists for the Vikings (2-2), while keeper Aleksys Pike made eight saves to preserve the shutout.
Kasey McPhail handled goalkeeping duties for the Bulldogs, turning away seven shots on the day.
St. Doms 1, Freeport 0
FREEPORT – With 3:36 left in the game Marry Lewis scored on assists from Elisha Dorso and Chelsea St. Onge to give St. Doms a 1-0 victory over Freeport.
St. Doms (4-0) dominated the game holding Freeport to zero shots on goal. Becca Powers made 19 saves for Freeport (2-1).
Fryeburg 3, Poland 2
POLAND – Heidi Richards scored a pair of goals including the game-winning goal in double overtime on a penalty corner to lead Fryeburg to a 3-2 victory over Poland.
Catherine Michell also scored unassisted for Fryeburg. For Poland (0-4) it was Nicole Stacey with both goals.
Maranacook 3, Oak Hill 2
READFIELD – Katie Norwood scored an unassisted goal late in the second half to lift Maranacook to a 3-2 KVAC victory over Oak Hill.
Katie Evans and Monica Purington also tallied for the Black Bears to complete the scoring. Rikki Welch made nine saves in net.
Audrey Grass and May Neadeau scored goals for the Raiders (0-4), while Kayla Clark and Hannah Bradstreet contributed with assists. Frankie Curtis made an impressive 29 saves in net.
Leavitt 3, Lincoln 1
NEWCASTLE – Jessica Paladino contributed on all three of Leavitts goals with a goal and two assists to lead Leavitt to a 3-1 win over Lincol Academy.
Lauren Doiron and Katelyn Beeckel netted a goal apiece for the Hornets (4-0).
Hillary Hewitt scored the only goal for Lincoln at the 9:10 mark in the first half. Leavitt outshot Lincoln 15-4.
Soccer
Morse 1, Edward Little 0
AUBURN – Martha Thomas found the back of the net with 2:24 left in the game as Morse defeated Edward Little 1-0 in a varsity girls’ soccer matchup on Tuesday.
Jill Henrikson made four stops to earn the shutout.
Brittney French made three saves in net for the Red Eddies (3-1).
Monmouth 2, Madison 0
MONMOUTH – Britney Hilton and Katie Woodman both tallied goals Tuesday to lead Monmouth to a 2-0 victory over Madison in a MVC girls’ soccer matchup.
Hilton blasted home a loose ball off a corner kick by Alex Gautheir with 25:40 remaining in the first half. Woodman gave the Mustangs (1-1-2) an unassisted goal with 34:59 remaining in the second half. Cortney Barrett made five saves to notch the win.
Ashley Marandola handled netkeeping duties for the Bulldogs (1-3), turning away nine shots fired in her direction.
Mt. Abram 3, Carrabec 1
SALEM – Emma Coffin led a trio of players to score goals Tuesday as Mt. Abram defeated Carrabec 3-1 in more MVC girls’ soccer action.
Freshmen Emma James and Rebecca London also tallied for the Roadrunners (3-0-1) to complete the scoring.
Briana Wilkins needed only three saves to notch the victory.
Becky Geib tallied the Cobra’s (0-4) lone goal, while netkeeper Amy Campbell turned away 16 shots on the day.
Mt. Ararat 4, Leavitt 0
TURNER – Chelsea Leduc netted a pair of goals to propel Mt. Ararat to a 4-0 shutout over Leavitt in a KVAC girls’ soccer matchup.
Lexie Hauser and Kelsey Fenwick also tallied for the Eagles (1-3) to round out the final tally. Jessica Stahl made five saves in net to record the win.
Katherine Rothe handled netkeeping duties for the Hornets (0-4), turning away 14 shots fired in her direction.
Waterville 4, Mt. Blue 0
WATERVILLE – Stephanie Witen and Paige Gardiner scored two goals apiece to lead Waterville to a 4-0 victory over Mt. Blue in an MVC girls’ soccer contest on Tuesday.
Waterville’s (4-0) Taylor Hart made six stops in net for the shutout.
Goalkeeper Caitlin Scott made nine saves for Mt. Blue (2-2).
